ALL THINGS NEWFOUNDLAND
As a ceremonially designated "Honorary Newfoundlander" and all round Newfie-file, I dedicate this page to my Newfoundland friends, traditional and contemporary Newfoundland Music and the decomissioned US NavFac Argentia on Placentia Bay.
Newfoundland Tie-Ins
After having been stationed at NavFac Argentia, I cultivated my fondness for Newfoundland music learning many songs which led to playing and singing them for fun and performing on occasion.
Through good fortune, I met Daphne and Steve Izer, and for the last several years have been attending their Newfie (a term we use with GREAT affection) Picnic, and Newfie Day celebrations in the State of Maine. I have come to know better many Newfoundlanders who I am proud to call friends. My band, Bitter Brew, has been asked to perform at this year's annual Newfie Picnic following in the footsteps of the wonderfully musical Squid Jiggers Band. Bitter Brew is currently recording several Newfoundland standards and hope to release a CD early this summer.

Combined Bachelors Quarters (affectionately the "Q") was razed in 1999 after Nav Fac Arg being decomissioned in 1994. My room on the 9th (girls') floor. The building housed a bank, offices, post office and even the exchange (after the fire) during the early 1980s.
